Bachelor's Teaching Evaluation
Teaching evaluation is a fundamental process in the university context, since it allows improving the quality of teaching and promoting academic excellence. In particular, students' opinions on their teachers' performance provide valuable insight, helping to identify both strengths and areas of opportunity in pedagogical practices.
In this sense, students value key aspects of the educational process, such as communication, collaborative work, critical reflection, professional ethics and the ability to solve problems. These opinions are essential to provide feedback to teachers, offering them the possibility of adjusting their teaching strategies and continuously improving their performance. Furthermore, the teaching evaluation process can generate a space for reflection and dialogue, where both teachers and directors of the Academic Unit can analyze the results and propose improvement actions based on the evidence collected.
The teaching evaluation process within the UABC for Bachelor's professors is formalized through the application of questionnaires that collect the opinions of students in a systematized manner one month before the end of each semester, covering different teaching modalities (theory, practice and online) and allow the institution to obtain a comprehensive overview of teaching performance in each subject.
The results of the teaching evaluation, based on the students' opinions, generate a semiannual report that includes recommendations for courses offered within the Flexible Teacher Training and Development Program (PFFDD). This program is designed to address specific areas of improvement, allowing teachers to formulate an action plan aimed at improving their educational practice. The PFFDD aims to strengthen the pedagogical skills of teachers through courses with a constructivist approach, which promote the development of critical thinking, reflective analysis and the adaptation of teaching to the particular context, thus contributing to improving the teaching-learning process.
The implementation of periodic and well-structured teaching evaluations not only promotes continuous improvement of educational quality, but also fosters an institutional culture oriented towards reflection and professional development. The Academic Unit is responsible for monitoring the teaching practices of the professors of the academic programs served.
